1) Abdul-Mughni bin Jajib bin Haroun Chén-Al-Yasir: Zafirah’s Father
Typical overly wealthy businessman/merchant. Tends to be stubborn and prefers to
get his way. Can be loud, overbearing and is fairly quick to anger. He married Jiao
as a way to increase the overall wealth of both families. His connections and mercantile
trade in combantion with his wife’s very shrewd business sense has been fairly successful.



2) Jiao Zheng-Al-Ihsan: Zafirah’s Mother
Can be just as stubborn as her husband, but is nowhere near as loud or overbearing.
For her part, she is a very shrewd businesswoman and married Abdul as a way to increase
the overall wealth of both families. Her shrewd business sense combined with her
husband’s connections and mercantile trade has been fairly successful.



3) Lady Nahlah: Zafirah’s primary instructor and mentor at the Royal Academy of
Elemental Thaumaturgy
Cool, stern and demanding. A perfectionist in every aspect of magic. There are very
few individuals that actually intimidate and subdue Zafirah with a look…Lady Nalah
is one of these people. 

(Concept: If this NPC is used and/or makes an appearance, I figure that she woudl
be that creepy, stern elementary school teacher that even as an adult is still intimidating.
However, it is because of this, that the character is as good/disciplined/etc. as
they are.)



4) Jiong-Xu Tai: Distant relative
Owns the a medium trader/transport vessel Lucky Dragon, which is currently docked
at Northpoint for the winter, preparing to continue onwards towards Syreedik. Jion-Xu
Tai’s relation to Zafirah is on her mother’s side of the family. Jiao’s mother’s
sister is married to Jion-Xu’s brother. He has had some relations with Abdul and
Jiao, though mostly on a business level from time to time.



5) Corporal Anthony McCole: Junior NCO for the Northpoint Town Guard.
Anthony was the leader of the squad that responded when Zafirah’s experiment destroyed
much of an Inn she was staying at. Before then (and even since), they have managed
to see a lot more of each other than either of them would prefer. Of course the 
vast majority of these crossings have been minor confrontations and have ended with
the “Remember, I’ve got my eye on you missy.” 

(Concept: Almost an Andy Griffith style cop. His feelings towards Zafi are fairly
neutral as he sees her as just some young punk kid/adventerur, but ever since he
laid eyes on her, he knew she was going to be trouble. Sure enough she was. I see
this guy as, through (un)luck manages to be always around the corner...that is, 
if she is going to run into a cop for whatever reason, he would most likely be it)



6) Codicer David Miller: Magic Guild Initiate. 
David was one of the first people that Zafirah met upon landing at Northpoint. This
was mostly so she could gain access to the resources that the guild had on hand.
Unfortunately, due to Zafirah’s rather sharp tongue on this first meeting, David
has made it a point that any and all paperwork that comes in his general direction
that comes from or about Zafirah gets lost, misrouted or even destroyed. Although
not illegal outright, this has made applying and getting any assistance from the
guild hall most difficult to say the least (and of course is of no lack of irritation
to Zafirah). 

(Concept: due to Zafi's Psych-lims, she mouthed off to this guy who is by all
things considered lower on the food chain than she is...even if she were to join
up, she would outrank him as he is still trying to learn the basics. However, because
of that incident, he has a little bit of a chip on his shoulder. Nothing major mind
you, but he does what he can to make Zafi's life difficult whenever and however
he can. I see him as being a minor annoyance that can be easily avoided)
